Historic Retreat
Historically a summer
retreat for an Abbot from the nearby Margam Abbey, the cottage
stands alone on our farmlands, offering tremendous views of Swansea
Bay, surrounding hills and countryside.
The cottage is a
haven of peace and tranquillity and provides a very comfortable
base to relax and unwind or explore.
Both the M4 and
A48 are easily accessible.

Locality
We are 15 minutes from Swansea with Mumbles
and the Gower beaches
In the other direction,
Porthcawl and the heritage coastline are also 15
minutes away
Vibrant and interesting Cardiff is 25
minutes from us
The rolling and rugged Brecon Beacons National
Park is half an hour from the doorstep
Elegant Tenby with its colourful harbour
and beaches is 45 minutes drive though beautiful countryside
Nearby activities
There is an
enormous variety of activities in the area, supplying lovers
of peace and quiet with any type of tranquillity and peaceful
scenery imaginable. There are rolling hills, woodland walks,
sandy beaches or famous rugged Welsh coastline walks.
For visitors preferring a more lively environment, the internationally
famous new Cardiff Millennium Centre in the middle of the revamped
Cardiff Bay area is a stimulating and easy to reach visit. Swansea,
also famous for its extensive shopping facilities, has the Gower's
beaches offering watersports on its doorstep to recover from
too much city life. Activities also cover horse riding, golf,
windsurfing, kayaking, paragliding and so on. We have all this
information available for you at the cottage.

Accommodation
details
- The cottage has a well equipped oak fitted kitchen
with automatic washing machine, tall ¾ fridge ¼ freezer and
payphone.
- The dining room has a table to seat 6, two
sofas a living flame fire and midi CD system.
- The bathroom is located on the ground floor.
- The lounge is large and comfortable with a
gas ‘woodburner’, large sofa which converts to a double metal action
sofa bed, two seat sofa and wing chair. There is a colour television
and video player.
- The staircase is accessed via the dining room.
- The main bedroom is a double with dressing
table, bedside tables, and radio alarm. The twin bedroom
is accessed directly off the main bedroom. Off the twin bedroom is
a walk in wardrobe area providing ample hanging room and a further
dressing table.
- A high chair and travel cot are available upon request
(guests please bring bedding for the cot).
- The garden is large and enclosed with a decked
area and garden furniture.
- All heating, electricity, bedding, tea towels and
dishcloths are provided. Towels subject to arrangement and charge of
£25.00pw.

Sorry no pets are permitted.
The cottage is available all year and short breaks outside
peak season are welcome.
Weekly rate range for 2008: £300.00 - £500.00 (max 4 persons
plus cot).
